Request a Photo to Verify

Ask the host for a live verification photo in Messages before you book. Hosts reply with a camera photo so you can confirm the listing looks as expected.

1

What photo verification is

Guests can ask for a current photo of the property from Messages. It is not a booking and it does not hold dates. It is a trust step before Reserve.

Built for trust before Reserve

You still choose dates and complete Reserve (or Request, if Approve bookings first is on) to book.

2

How guests request a photo

Open Messages on the listing. Tap Request a photo to verify. Pick a preset or type what you want to see, for example the kitchen or the view today.

3

What hosts see and do

Hosts get the request in Messages and reply with the in-app camera. Only photos sent while a request is waiting count as verification replies. Other images stay normal chat photos.

4

Before you reserve

Use verification when photos on the listing look old, or you want to confirm a specific room. It does not replace reading reviews, the map, or house rules.

5

Tips for clear requests

  • Ask for one clear subject (garden, bedroom, parking)
  • Avoid vague asks like “everything”
  • Hosts can decline; you can still book or look at other listings
